“Since its beginnings, notably thanks to the work of artists like Fred Forest, the Internet has not only been a vector for the dissemination of art, it is also one of the places where it takes place.
The action “the ephemeris of the blue maquis” has nothing technological. In this, I simply force myself via the social network Facebook to emit daily what I call low-intensity creative noise. Every day, I “reinvent” my trip around the world by commenting on photos out of order.
What could be more banal? I am sacrificing here to the exact ritual of millions of users: commenting on a photo they have taken and posting it on the social network.
Make no mistake, despite their massive nature, these productions are not necessarily all without ambition and without interest, especially when we consider them as a whole. With a diversity proportional to their quantity, these singular vibrations, in their dissonance, have something of the blue note, of the song of the world as it goes.
The medium that conveys them also has specific features that I found interesting to exploit. It disrupts the benchmarks of time and space. So, some people still think I’m traveling, but I’m not anymore. Some people think I’m far away, I’m close… or not. I blur the lines, I play with the possibilities of this tool allowing one to free oneself from a lot of constraints, to easily locate oneself in a slight gap. The action of curling up in plain sight in this particular dimensional gap can be understood, why not, as a tool of artistic expression.
Is it an imaginary travel diary, a journey within myself? Of a diary delivered to the general public? It was nothing ?
I have not decide yet.
